Could simply be bad luck Could be doing it wrong
I used to know a dude that busted several 4sp munchie gearbox's by driving out his gate Another guy got just over 580K km's out of a stock HQ 202 Kingswood before it gave any problems. 2 guys I used to know, had identical Rovers. 1 replaced his exhaust every 3 years The other was still original after 15 years Both were teachers at the same school & lived close to each other.
The devil is in the details.

That is why I now buy brand new cars. They can be cheaper in the long run for those of us who do not have the knowlege or want to do our own repairs.

OK, when you say it won't change gear, explain that a wee bit more. Will it go into a gear?

Looks like no vehicle would be "plasticboys proof" Try buying low k , doing maintenance and driving it like a nana till the vehicle fully warm. Spent 3 hundie on my Nissan in 10 years 60,000 km

every car has its issues. comes down to what you can fix or put up with.
one of the ford couriers is well known for blowing the gearbox. that may explain why your ute is so darn cheap.
plasticboys,
Aug 25, 6:48am
some reseson they go for silly money , think thats why crazy prices are for them gearboxes , to me it just a ute thats cheep to run

this one says you've assembled the selectors back to front on at least one of the shafts, time to pull it out, strip it down, punch the pin, remove the shaft, turn the selector over and put it back in the right way round
the stiffness is the cones being engaged by the fork being backwards on the shaft, , won't cost to fix it, just time, maybe another tube of silicone sealer

just pulled to bits and found 2 off 3 of the pin thingys that run with one of the sencro mech cons is brocken the ends of and stuck out and jamed one of the sencro cons up , may have to work and give it to someone to fix as i,v had it in bit to meany times
