just been towing a car transporter trailer and car back from Dunedin, my petrol 04 2.3 XTL king Cab has served well, but lack of spare power and toque is a worry;
. its fine around town just looking to up date it with some thing more powerfull and torquey.
. for my general contracting business i need /want KING CAB with lock up CANOPY ,and roof RACKS and BULL bars ,AND TOW BAR none of those are negotiable ,they are must haves !
. WAnt a later model than what i have 2014 on wards ,budget to $20 K plus trade in of my ute , really tidy 04 XLT Courier wellside JAp import ,air con, suicide back doors,air bags ,bull bars canopy(three window lock up)milage is 180 klm two owner.
. i always find my myelf looking at the same stuff ,what else in the new wave utes is just as good as a Courier and value for money these days.
. my use is general trades/contracting ,lots of short trips around town and occasional trips out of town 15 /20 klms and towing building materials around town with my 8 x 4 tralier.
. any ute sugestins to help me up date appreciated

To be honest, I think you're being unrealistic in your budget for a 2014 ute .
In saying that . My neighbour is about to buy a brand new Mahindra ute, for less than $24,000 . I doubt they have canopies available though.
