When I take off in 1st gear it shudders quite a lot, fine once going what would cause this?

Could be the clutch. ? do yer think. ? If in doubt,get someone else to check it. if it's not slipping,just keep driving it. But if it's an engine or gearbox mount prolly better get it fixed.

Combo's of any of.
Rear gearbox mount split 1 engine mount split High spots on clutch/ flywheel surface oil on flywheel.
1st pick is gearbox mount

what year is this vehicle, shudder of when letting clutch slowly in= worped flywheel just dump the clutch a bit faster and see if its ok then. ?

2005 160,000 kms if you give it plenty of gas it doesn't shudder, but it should take off without shuddering with low revs too

As others have said it's quite likely a flywheel issue. Dunno if those had a dual mass flywheel or not. I hope not (and it doesn't sound like it from your fault description)

Already had the . > flywheel high spot issue (resurface & new clutch kit) Split gearbox mount (fixed shudder for a while)
Suspect now that an engine mount has also split but not checked yet Shudder is minor & easy to avoid if thinking about it.
