What is the width of a std Caravan

im looking to find out what the width of a std caravan is, as we are looking at a carport and not too sure if it will be wide enough, looking at buying a caravan in the new year .

2.3 metres--well that is mine anyway--5.7m Panorama-(18ft)--but think most are that.

2.3 metres,but don't forget to allow for power socket on one side and outside light on other.

If they're on a normal tow hitch/drawbar, they're "simple trailers".
While many might be only 2.3 metres, they can be up to 2.5 metres.
"The maximum width for a light simple trailer (including its load) is 2.5 metres (excluding side marker lights and direction indicators and the bulge towards the bottom of the tyre). An additional 25mm is allowed on each side of the vehicle for ropes, lashings, straps, chains, connectors and tensioning devices that are neither permanently nor rigidly fixed to the vehicle; or J-hooks (to secure stock crates or bins)."

Yeah, and when you munt the awning track backing it into a tight space, the full impact of this probably won't be apparent until the first day of your holidays, when you'll have a nice little job to do - just when you should be relaxing with a cold beer.
