White is currently a very in demand colour. It is the second most popular colour for Corvette right now, after red.

The Mustang will get a following as well as it's Aussie Brother though dearer

Looks too much like the new Mondeo to me.

elect70, Apr 11, 3:30am
Wise move , lift the hood on ya 4 banger & get laughed at like last time they put a turbo 4 banger in . regardless of its "performance " claytons mustang

tgray, Apr 11, 3:59am
I'm surprised it's not higher than that.

melonhead1, Apr 11, 4:04am
A V8 or nothing, its a mustang! Four cylinders in a mustang? Come on.

zephyrheaven, Apr 11, 4:21am
they made a lot of 6 cylinder ones at the start dont forget, that was the smallest motor in the you ess of aye back in the day

mike1345, Apr 11, 4:32am
I can buy quite a few cars that I'd rather have for that money.

gman35, Apr 11, 4:48am
Doesn't do it for me. No look of quality or depth.
A thought ,Is there a white metallic paint available (or would that be pearl ?)

tgray, Apr 11, 5:35am
A agree.
A white, 4 cylinder Mustang with an auto transmission sounds unappealing, to say the least.
Ford's global experiment could backfire (excuse pun) and end up watering down the Mustang brand.
GM and the like will follow with RHD models soon after if Ford can pull it off.

lookoutas, Apr 11, 5:36am
That color/colour would be available, but whether Ford has it is another matter.
As I posted in #23 - white, red, black, blue, yellow, orange & 'crap' green, so far in NZ. But seems like tungsten, silver & maroon are an option in the States.
Maybe they've backed off some colours in RHD.

The best option with white is to have blue Le Mans stripes. Totally different looking car then.

Firstly, volume fixes everything - the Aussies have a bigger market, bigger volume, therefore fixed costs of importing and distributing can be spread over a higher number of cars. Second, the GST rate in Aus is 10% - here it's 15%. Third, we don't have local delivery charges and taxes that are added to the Aus price. Fourthly, (I understand) that dealer margins for Aust dealers are lower than here in NZ. Factor all those things in, and the price differences aren't what they seem.

Cheers

Yeah gathered volume would be a factor. Was told lot of NZ Ford franchises owned by one family. Pricing probably done pre $ parity too.
Oh well 2015 model looks like a chicks car anyway - lost the staunch look
of retro previous model. Be common as - where is the kool factor in anything common ?

mcscottwgtn, Apr 11, 10:27am
New Focus RS would be more fun and at gbp30,000 it should work out at the same price as the mustang ecoboost.

Most ford dealerships are owned by the colonial motor company which is ford, all the combined ford/mazda dealerships are colonial owned.

mals69, Apr 13, 5:08am
Cheers, interesting :)

saki, Apr 13, 6:43am
My brother is Co owner of two ford dealership's.

tgray, Apr 13, 7:04am
How many Mustangs is he being allocated?

saki, Apr 13, 7:25am
I am sure it is worked on car's That are prepaid other than that I'm not sure.

mals69, Apr 13, 10:24am
Nice - wish my brother did but all he owns is a didgeridoo

Maybe your bro could hook tgray up with a new muzzie - he
seems awfully keen on them of late .

tgray, Apr 13, 8:00pm
Lol. I used to be a big Mustang fan and have owned some in the past, but
I have never really liked any from 1974 onwards. Here in 2015, I still feel that way. Like the rest since then the new one just doesn't appeal to me.
Yes, I switched camps - Love the Chevy's, especially Corvette/Camaro.

mals69, Apr 14, 1:52am
64 1/2 to 66 think nicest - bullet ok
We followed latest camaro to akaroa last week - looked kool
with the old skool red blinker coming on for the overtaking
and its growl.
That latest blue vette you had on here very nice - good for you getting
your rear into good American muscle instead of just dreaming about it.
I do not mind either camp - depends on model.

tgray, Apr 14, 2:50am
Thanks re blue vette.
The white one is here and I pick it up in next 5 days. Long wait! bought it late Jan. Blue one next month. Huge delays at Long beach port still.
Despite the Camaro's being in their 6th year of production (and last in this form), I think they still look better than the 2015 Mustang. Others would disagree, but just my opinion.

mals69, Mar 14, 4:14pm
Good old port labor dispute :)
Yeah personal taste, agree - 2015 muzzie not staunch
muscle car looking - hairdresser material
