Air Cleaner - Small Digger / Compressor / Tractor

I'm trying to get a complete air cleaner assembly to go on a Landrover, to replace the EH Holden one mine's had since new. It's wobbled too many times and the base plate is rooted.

I want something modern, preferably new, that takes a readily available filter and has either adjustable in /out positions or in they can be modified to the right place.

I've had a major trawl on here and come up with nothing. Anyone got any leads on where to look? Cheers, Graeme

original was a plumbed one, oil bath, on left side guard, not on top of carb, a pod will do, will need hoses so pod is not on top of carb, and will need support - also will need changing more often if off road often

true , there were a lot of 186's dropped into the old land rovers

The NZ assembled ones from late 60s on had a paper filter and pressed metal housing the same as the EH.

The truck hasn't got the mountings for the old oil bath cleaner, so if i've got to fabricate something, I'd rather end up with a more modern set up than the oil bath.

I've tried repairing the old ones (I've got a selection, all stuffed the same way)by welding or brazing without much success, the metal is too brittle. Most successful has been a really bodgy repair with some little angle brackets, rivets, 100mph tape and silicone, wobbles but hangs together and doesn't leak.

Yeah, looked at that angle, but not sure how they'd go in really dusty going. that would be my fallback if I ended up with no air cleaner.

Trying to get a larger, more modern, air cleaner that I can put a snorkel / pre-cleaner onto.

Usually it would be getting something off a 4x4 wrecker or tractor wrecker.
Oil baths are still preferred in some applications.
http://www.arb.com.au/ for the snorkel The offroad people usually rig something up to keep the engine air clean http://www.cowpertrucks.co.nz/products-c-47.html https://www.donaldson.com/en/engine/air/chart.html (Many of these will be too big for your application might be something there.

Cheers for that serf, that's what I was looking for. There's a few options there in the Donaldson range. I'll follow up on them this week

A good alternative is the air cleaner body and filter of Mitsubishi L300 Van, these filters are used on numerous different machines and vehicles diggers around the world. Good breathing and connect with 2.5 inch rubber connectors.
