Engine Oil, where to take old oil in Hamilton

mrsrickp, Apr 15, 8:35pm
We are about to service our vehicles x2. Where do we take the old engine oil to, either for dumping or recycling. Is there a charge?

noswalg, Apr 15, 8:47pm
You can take it to the transfer station down Lincoln st, they have drums down by the recycling center, no charge.

Repco usually provide a service.

SCA are doing oil collection now I see.

but do they charge for the privilege?

Don't know TBH, might be a charge perhaps if you haven't bought the new oil from them.

supercheap dont charge. only condition is that its in a proper sealed container. they actually get people dumping it in icecream containers of milk bottles that melt eventually.

not every supercheap does oil collection so far. some rural/regional ones dont have a local agent to pick it up, ring your local branch if unsure

Most Repco stores accept it for recycling
