its for my daughter. she is running around in a mitsi l 300 . i hear they are not a good vehicle safety wise. just running around town, probably something the same size 3 seats . manual / petrol.

If you go to the Used Cars Safety Rating website you will see that you have only four to choose from: Ford Transit 01 to 07, Mercedes Sprinter 98 to 06, Volkswagen Transporter 95 to 04 and Toyota Hiace 05 to 13; although the Toyota is one step down from the top safety rating but still a "1000" times better than an L300.

If none of the above are suitable you could drop down one safety rating step and consider a Toyota Hiace/Liteace 96 to 04. I don't think that you can get petrol versions of the Ford, VW or Mercedes vans.

For comfort and performance could also look at the larger people carriers. My current work van in a nissan elgrand, its got the 3.5 litre v6 but they do come in a 2.5 litre and a diesel.
