Want a safe decent van

its for my daughter. she is running around in a mitsi l 300 . i hear they are not a good vehicle safety wise. just running around town, probably something the same size 3 seats . manual / petrol.

If you go to the Used Cars Safety Rating website you will see that you have only four to choose from: Ford Transit 01 to 07, Mercedes Sprinter 98 to 06, Volkswagen Transporter 95 to 04 and Toyota Hiace 05 to 13; although the Toyota is one step down from the top safety rating but still a "1000" times better than an L300.

If none of the above are suitable you could drop down one safety rating step and consider a Toyota Hiace/Liteace 96 to 04.
I don't think that you can get petrol versions of the Ford, VW or Mercedes vans.

So do I but hard to get a good one at OPs budget. 4 Star safety rating too.

For comfort and performance could also look at the larger people carriers. My current work van in a nissan elgrand, its got the 3.5 litre v6 but they do come in a 2.5 litre and a diesel.
