Hello motoring genius's. My father has managed to never throw out a car battery over years and years and now has 12 used car batteries in his garage. While I'm all about recycling and not simply dumping them I've hear that some firms will pay you for your dead batteries as they can be repurposed. Looking in the Mangere or Onehunga area

It must a been a huge battery, they are paying about $0.70 cents per Kg. Most are about 10kg, the older bigger 330CCA were 15kg.
Clean the battery's up, like remove solid dirt. Wipe and clean any acid off them with rag or such. Make sure the caps/plugs are screwed in. Pay day!

As mentioned, scrap dealers will pay by the kilogram. So make sure you top up the batteries with water to increase the weight.
