Looking at buying a 2000 - 2006 X5 diesel for boat towing duties (2500kgs) most are about 220 -250,000kms. Pro's and con's? Read a number of reports from overseas which seem to go for and against them.

Go for the face lift 2004 + diesel. The pre face lift diesel is no where near as powerful and has a 5 speed not 6 speed auto.
