Hi all, I am swapping out my 4 speed (paying someone) for a 5 speed T9 sierra box but I need a new flywheel.
What am I looking for?
Also, when I get it done, assuming no surprises, what can I expect to pay? No-one seems willing to give me an answer on this.

Your flywheel choice will rather depend on which one of the seven Cortina engines you have, and then the ring gear selection will (I think) depend on how many teeth your starter motor has

If its going into a MK 3 to MK 5 . You use Cortina or sierra flywheel and clutch . Use an auto Cortina gearbox mount and driveshaft .

So I shouldn't need to change the flywheel and clutch at all?
Is the sierra cross-member enough?

2l pinto to sierra 5 speed is bolt on conversion put new clutch plate in . Should be able to do it in an afternoon . . while your at it get a mild head job & headers give it a bit more oomp

will bolt straight in using an automatic gearbox crossmember , ( slight file to oval the hole to line up needed ) Use an automatic driveshaft will be correct length and fit straight in . . will also need sierra speedo cable as is slightly longer . Will make the car a heap nicer car to drive !

I did the 2L pinto & 5 sp into mk 1 escort mildly modified . Was a great little car drove it long distance reliable & quite economical . donk came out of a mk 3 cortina GT auto& 5 sp box flywheel & clutch from sierra , both had the tin worm real bad & were write offs . I p u t the GT instrument binnacle in as well with all the gauges
