There is an even greater range of engines in the Avensis.

Fielder 1800cc, 1500cc is ok for city driving but a bit underpowered for hills and overtaking especially with passengers. The 2.4 Avensis without the D4 engine is mint- it's more upmarket than the Fielder (more airbags, some leather option, cruise control etc). I would give the 2L D4 avensis a miss- known for surging and rough running issues
