A customer decided to water blast his 1996 mitsi 2.5 V6,he towed it in .Dried out all the obvious,it was running well before he bathed it.Spark checked with a grounded plug appeared OK ,but weak.Distributor cap was burnt away in center and rotor the same.New cap and rotor fitted.Changed all plugs,checked air filter for moisture.Spark still seemed weak to the naked eye.Got auto electrician to scan it,both knock sensors tested ok.No fault codes.Checked injector pulse and fuel flow. ok.Eventually put a 2nd hand distributor in and it goes like it used to.How could we have tested the spark output properly.

cheers franc123 . i'll grab one ,even with my old eyes I still reckoned right from the start that the spark looked weak,be good to take the guess work out
