Honda 150R - whats good/bad about them and .

moovinup, Oct 6, 11:38pm
Son has had a CRF150 but outgrown it and is now on the hunt for the next bike. He,s 13 yrs old, solid build and sensible and would prefer to stick to the Honda brand . doesn't want an electric start preferably. He mainly does trail bike riding but will be used a lot on the farm - don't want a 2 stroke! What are our options - thoughts and suggestions welcomed please! TIA

Would he fit a 250?
The bigger wheels and suspension of a 250 help in the rougher stuff.
Don't know much about the 150R sorry.

Compared to the benign air cooled CRF 150 the 150R is a highly strung water cooled motorcross weapon, they go like a cut but you pay the price with close g/box ratio's and an expensive engine that needs constant maintenance.

Avoid getting him a CRF230; he'll out grow it almost immediately, been there, done that!

It you can get him on a CRF250X it will more than tick all the boxes.

Great in flesh and giant killer over twisty hill.

If I believed that carving up a twisty piece of road on a 690 Duke was "gay" where as wobbling down the motorway on a "hog" dressed as a member of the Village people was masculine I'd be seriously considering gender therapy!
