Depends on version of transmission and make model of vehicle.

Every 60,000k, as a general rule.

All depends as #2 said ,the make n model. Ideally Flush and change the fluid with a new filter every 50,000 but check with the manufactures recommendations some are every 100,000 to 150,000 completely including filter .Pull the stick if it has one! and see if the fluid is a cherry red in colour will be ok but if it is brown colour or burnt smelling its not ok. A flush on its own is not good enough ,a new filter must be fitted too as well. Some auto trans are a sealed system and the fluid level and service schedule show on dash graph bar or warning light.Better to see a transmission specialist about the trans. It maybe in need of more than a fluid change !

Depends on use as well. Transmission fluid breaks down with heat. So if you are towing regularly, for example, it won't last anywhere near as long as if you are doing mostly open road running without a trailer.
