Could be any Side valve, flathead 4cyl. Ford, Austin/Morris, Wisconsin or even 1 side off a flat head V8. 16 head studs may be a clue.

4 Cylinder and at a guess Ford as in the Populars and E93A Prefects. With the thermo- syphon cooling system that incorporated that water outlet in the middle of the head. I note it's 14 head studs not 16

I was thinking it looked like my 1952 E93A but I can't recall where the radiator pipes went on the head.

Yep, I think it is a Hillman, look at the second row of headbolts, the third one is offset.

Yes not a Ford. as the heads on those had the extension casting on the head to mount the generator.
