Ply or steel for trailer deck?

but its ridiculously heavy for a trailer.

our work trailer is 10+ years old with original ply.
one ute has had the ply replaced after 12 years.
how long do you need it to last ?
ply is easy and quick to replace even if you do smash it.

Agreed. Although the truck deck is brilliant stuff, I can't justify the expense. And like you say, if the ply gets damaged I won't lose sleep over it.

Good stuff. Supercourse has a multitude of uses and unlike Malthoid, can be used safely on H3.2 treated timber.

Ply quieter and not as slippery as alloy which gets cracked and fatigued with age,as said ply lasts years just go thicker rather than thinner if you heaving stuff on to it.

I re did mine in 5 plyconstruction grade with sheet steel over the top , prepaint the the underside first & use sika flex adhesive to stick the steel to the ply . Or buy aluminium tread plate .
