Did you ever solve the engine problem, I remember it as an epic long thread but never saw that it was resolved.

Spotted an Avenger sitting in the front of a house in Coxhead road Manurewa. Looks like it may need a new home in Hamilton.

Looks like the problem may now be resolved with the query on the "pre accident" value.

You could try a car club, they may have someone who can do it, we got our 42 willys jeep done by the president of the club. He just wrote a brief letter stating the value. Easy as.

90% resolved after an engine rebuild & another set of Stromburgs rehashed.
Still a slight miss but no idea why as haven't had it back here yet.
Carbs were apparently direct off another 1600 avenger engine but appear to be behaving very lean or super rich depending on rev's etc.
Might see if we can get a new needle & seat kit for them to suit the 1600.

Son was about to take it down for a new wof after a short drive to make sure it was behaving ok, when he got rear ended by a van.
Munted the rear a bit but not badly.

Insurance request.

You probably need to take it to someone who knows shit from clay.
Usually an Insurance Co will get a car dealer to do it. If no-one available in that field has the inclination or knowledge, then I would suggest someone like Noel at Nostalgia Motors, or Peter at Auto Techix. They would have more clues as to what it's value would be than anyone.
