My old Sunny is starting to miss on one and sometimes two cylinders, only when under load. Do any of you knowledgeable ladies and gents have any suggestions about possible reasons for this? Thank you.

Spark plugs, or more likely a coil or two

Try changing the spark plugs. Does it have a distributor or separate coil packs?

Have you washed under the bonnet recently? possible causes with one of those 1) water down the spark plug holes from washing 2) the rocker cover seals are weeping letting oil run down into the spark plug holes. 3) plugs are needing to be replaced 4)the coils in the cylinders concerned are dud

Spark plugs, coil(s) if it's a dd engine injectors fail.
