all fine until you try to go over 90kmh, judders and feels like its running out of gas, stripped carb down and cleaned and same problem, any ideas

Next things I would look at would be the petrol filter and pump also the vacuum advance

has got a new fuel pump and filter, but will look at the vacum advance thanks for your help

I had a customer many years ago with an XE ute which was doing something similar, it turned out the pickup filter inside the tank was partially blocked, even though it could be blown through easily enough by mouth.Taking the filter off and driving the car again, or even connecting another length of fuel line between the cars supply line and a jerry can in the boot will isolate that problem.Another thing worth checking for is that the breather system for the tank is working.

thanks for that, i will try that first thing in the morning im hoping it is a fuel problem and not an electrical one

I would also check the coil (if you have a spear change it) worth a try could be breaking down under load

changed coil plugs and leads, and no difference
