Hey, ive got a new sony xplod stereo headdeck and having some troubles. its the first install ive done. I've hooked up all the wires but the headdeck won't power on, ive checked all the fuses and re done the wiring twice just to make sure its sweet. Does anyone have any clues to why its not working!

Do you have a multimeter!
Checking for 12VDC on your power in and making sure your earth wire is correctly grounded for starters.Also check that you have correctly identified your ACC line - you should see 12VDC with the car ignition turned to ACC and it should disappear when you turn it off again.Also some head units have a fuse at the back.Have you checked that!

Also, have you checked (either with a multi meter or a test light) that you selected the correct "earth" since some wires appear to be earth when they are not etc.!
Did you have to remove an existing head unit that was working fine!

ok, other than the speaker wire, where exactly did you connect the red, yellow and black and blue wire to! what car is it!

may need a second earth on the back of the head unit to under the dash
