LOL. its not going to fall to bits, its a very tidy example. That excess of $1000 was for third party only.

My husband and I, have never made a claim on our vehicle insurance. We want the insurance co to know my teen girl is going to be the main driver of that vehicle.

and no. obviously its not a powerful vehicle.

haha.Thanks for the feedback.Much appreciated.

NZI is the best. I recently got a quote from them, my premium drop half now!

LMFAO . Absolutely spot on.
Loosing $1000 regardless of fault or not, is blimmin cheap if the other car/truck is worth $40,000 + $$$

I note you make no mention of degree because you can't.

If having insurance cuts your costs, you're not a member of the low risk group.

Bro, since when is a water leak and a timing belt breaking going to kill people.

best way to avoid that cost is to not crash

Look at it from the insurer's perspective. Taking into account the chances of a claim (very high given her age and the stats available), would you insure her! Realise also that insurance is simply legalised gambling where the insurance company knows the odds but you don't.

the higher the excess, the lower the premiums.

kimbo88, Nov 8, 5:15am
That excess is fairly standard until they turn 25, then it drops back to the standard excess for the policy.I've got one teen on a $1300 excess and another one on a $900 one.I doubt very much if you will get anyone to go much lower than around the $900 for a teen, unless the premiums were fairly huge.

$1,000 excess for an under 21 is a bargain.

What's the problem!

My daughters (16yo) excess for 3rd party fire and theft was $700 with Monument, hit a powerpole $6000 bill covered by insurance, $700 well spent!

Heh you don't have EQ damage do you

Yup almost died when AMI told me what they wanted for premium for my old Renault Clio Sport. A $250 excess would have had me paying $1k a year premium. I was 28 with nine years no claims! With a $750 excess I got the premium down to around $600.

through AA i got third party and my insurance was $12 a week, around about. I had a GT starlet (turbo 1300) and i was 16 at the time.

I just realised you have a great sense of humour and that you are exercising it.For a while there I believed you were serious in your thinking but now I see your wry smile and tongue in cheek as you made your last comment. You have amused me and I appreciate that. Well done, equine dementia!
