dj.indica., Nov 13, 8:22pm
240k in my old E39A. Was the scariest thing ever felt like it was going to fly

sifty, Nov 13, 8:26pm
50k in town and 100k on the open road because any faster is DANGEROUS it says so on the telly.

poppajn, Nov 13, 8:41pm
45mph in a Austin 7 downhill and a kid on a bike passed us.

desertcolt07, Nov 13, 8:48pm
240kmph

kiwicon, Nov 13, 9:17pm
had a turbd mitzi cordia back in the day (2nd car actually) brought it off this rally crowd up in riverhead. took that off the 240km/h clock down the bombay hills south bound, before they did the road change - stopped to pick up a hitch-hiker just before that corner with the church (lucky cause that was a pretty bad corner at those speeds lol. took 2-3 sec for the needle to register back on the cluster. hitch-hiker picks up my door mold as he runs down to my car.

Ahh ok, it's not actually a V8 supercar (they have been asked in the past to remove the V8 Supercars logo from their website), it's a pimped out V8 and it doesn't do 280km/hr, top speed is around 240km/hr.although they did used to say on their website it does 300km/hr - yeah right, lol.

But luckily for you they turned up, a lot of the time they don't and luckily the car was actually working after Fogg plowed it into the back wall @ Puke a few weeks ago when one of the wheels fell off it ;-)

kiwicon, Nov 13, 10:19pm
chipped or speed cut removed was it. speedo only goe's to 180, and speed cut is like 188Ks.

ninja_man, Nov 13, 11:00pm
looked like a v8 supercar to me (older one), the engine looked the same when they took off the cover too. On my run one of the tires burst (at the hairpin luckily), yes i heard about foggy crashing it a few weeks back. I get another 3 laps so worked out pretty good :)

tantric5, Nov 14, 12:15am
140 mph big block mustang
130mphsmall block vette

I think I coulda squeezed more but that was fast enough for me.

magicmat, Nov 14, 12:25am
Yes very true and even better if you do 40-45kph around town and 70-80 on the open road. Great way to make lots of friends with other motorists who toot and 'wave' to show their happiness with a safety conscious driver.

lisah8, Nov 14, 12:31am
Ahh well I guess that's what happens when you put standard road tyres on a car then expect them to last through extreme driving conditions.

lilly105, Nov 14, 12:48am
184 kph (that's as high as the digital speedo would go) in a 1982 Supra.

ceedoubleyou, Nov 14, 1:16am
indicated 200 kph in a 1987 Sigma GSR-X, 2L turbo, it was only a couple years old, it was pretty much maxed out on SH 27.

a18a, Nov 14, 1:25am
My mates cousins mates mate said his brothers mates son done 350 kph in his hyundai lantra once

the_don_61, Nov 14, 2:09am
165Mph+ in a dodge challenger 440 magum(wasnt a R/T) .well off the clock.

the_don_61, Nov 14, 2:11am
70!that must have been worked. my 61 F was only good for about 65.LOL2nd or 3th didnt seam to matter.

owene, Nov 14, 2:13am
So it seems that my AC must be the fastest vehicle in NZ!

ninja_man, Nov 14, 2:40am
road tires! they were full dunlop slicks. and the reason why the tire burst was because the rim was split right in half, something wrong with the brake caliper that did it.

bellky, Nov 14, 2:45am
your mouth is!

rsr72, Nov 14, 2:59am
265/70 kms in a fast convoy Blenheim to CH-CH.

trogedon, Nov 14, 3:31am
If it was off the clock how did you know the speed!

lisah8, Nov 14, 4:20am
You'dthink they would get that brakecaliper fixed as it's been the apparent cause of tyres bursting on the last 3 times they have taken public out in that car.

richard198, Nov 14, 4:26am
I'm sure there's more than a few dreamers in this thread!
