would anyone out there in trademe land know how much a cast 350 engine block would weigh! Thats just the bare block, no crank, cam, slugs, heads etc. Need to get one transported from Whangarei to Auckland and the freight outfits are being picky sods, cheers

Don't know about the block alone, but complete they weigh 575lbs according to google, which is about 260Kg. That may help if you could guess or know the weights of the parts removed!

They will want to know if needs taill lifter or whether it can be loaded by hand , had this before .

Also OSH regulations on "two person lift". Isn't it only about 40KG or something!

Whangarei to Auckland about 160km. Takes about 2 1/4 hrs in car dependant on traffic.

yea cheers i was thinking of somewhere else lol d'oh, Luckily the bloke i bought it from works for a transport company and is going to chuck it on the truck to Auckland and i can pick it up from there since we are heading up anyway
