Ok. This is an interesting one. The Thermostat shouldnt make too much difference. If its doing it warm and cold then thats not the issue. Now the Trans Fluid type may be an issue as might be the torque converter itself. I would like to find out pressure tests etc to see where things are at with your car. That would be my starting point. Please get back to me as to everything you know about the problem so far. Temperatures its been happening, frequency, when the trans fluid was last replaced, with what type of fluid etc. Thanks

Hi,
It will never engage when cold, but it will sometimes engage when warm.Especially if I briefly stop the engine.
I've personally drained and refilled the transmission twice (1000km apart) with genuine Honda ATF.So assuming 50% drains out each time, the transmission now contains 75% new ATF.

Ok its definitely not atemp problem (coolant temp) Im thinking It could be a solenoid problem. I would be taking it in and asking for a pressure test of your trans. If gears arent engaging that is a main thing. It will always go into reverse as that is a teeth gear not a clutch pack.

There is nothing wrong with the main drive gears, it's smooth as.I'll check out the two solenoids that control the torque converter lock cheers.

As for your oil ninja_man, you live fairly far north so temperature isn't so much of a consideration. How many km does your integra type r have on it! What were you using before viscosity wise!

antwerp87; my 2003 odyssey ra6 (2.3) sets off the abs in the front left with ordinary braking (feel a slight shuddering as it pulses and can hear the pump).Its not throwing any codes, and the light comes on and goes off as normal on start up.What could cause that!
