Anyone know much about these Suzukis! Looking at buying a second hand one.

The four cylinder variants are more reliable than the 2.0 V6, and the V6 doesn't give you a huge power advantage.Drivetrain gives no problems in general, and rust is not a concern.

Had a 1997 1600 Vitara auto. Did about 42000ks while I owned it. Went like a charm but with a good size trailer of firewood it did slow down a little. After I sold itat 176 000, the new owner asked me "Where did you get spare parts for it!" I never bought parts, only oil, oil filters, spark plugs, a couple of bulbs and some brake pads. Pretty good on petrol, better than 9 litre /100ks on a trip.
