any one help with some info on the problems i keep hearing about with the 1600 16 valve motors! apparently the factory extractors shrink and cause back pressure and then do the head gasket. any info please

Yup thats correct normally leads to cracked heads and trying to find a second hand head isnt easy. Deffinly worth putting a set of extractors.

is this only limited to the 1600 motor though! the reason im asking is i just purchcused a 2.0l V6 model nomade.

No it's not an issue with those, being a V6 its a completely different exhaust setup.

V6 = look forward to stretched cam chains! nah just change the oil religiously & they last OK

.and change antifreeze regularly.you don't want to replace a water pump on those!
