Chch to Timaru any roadworks!

intending to go down to visit a friend in Albury on the wee scooter over xmas & just curious to know if there are real major roadworks on either the Inland road to Fairlee, or on state h/way 1 between. I hate shingle on two wheels - especially when there are lines of cars going slowly through.

Yup, there's a heap between Ashburton and Timaru.

You'll never learn unless you try!

Gravel and two wheels is nothing to be afraid of if you are sensible, just take it easy, drag your feet if you get really scared.

There's people take scooters over crazy bad roads, a bit of gravel ain't nothing.

They never do any in a holiday period and finish what they have done. It,s a Transist requirement

I can do gravel, as I usually go on the Reefton Bottled lightening rally [didn't this year] & there is usually at least up to 50k of gravel in the 500k's done. oh & the scooter is a 750 katana
