Hi just got told that if your tyres are different you could fail a warrant. I have 3 tyres that are 205/40/17 amd the other is 215/40/17 is this true!

Yes, if they are being particularly observant, you could be failed. Assuming your rims are all the same, then you have one wrong tyre or three wrong ones!
what year is your car is a other question as there is different rools for diferent age of car

the rims are the same. I didn't think it mattered but will soon see. Why is it so important!

same axle must be the same size pre 89 you can fit what ever and 2002 have to have every tyre the same all round the dates are not 100% correct but your 94 will be in the law where a axle has to have the same tyre

i guess try your luck there is loads of idiotic laws like high stop lightsfor cars who do and dont need it fitted. my 85 carina needed a high stoplight because it was imported after the law passed as where a nz new carina same car wont need a high stop light lol

. on or after 1 January 1992 and before 1 October 2002, Tyres manufactured . in New Zealand on or after 1 October 2002 must be of the same construction google it I have seen the rool in my wof guys roolbook. be 92 or before where you could mix and match I know my naigbours mazda 89 capella always had all sorts of tyres on it.

Intrade needs to reed the roolbook again methinks.Dates, be they manufacturing or registration have absolutely nothing to do with tyre compatibility on the same axle.
