Tyre Pressure! Tyre says max 50 psi

diggermike, Dec 25, 12:25am
Hi all, would anybody know what psi I should put in my tyres!
They are 19" 245 tyres and they state on the tyres them self max 50 psi

Vehicle is a A8 Audi.

TIA

generally on most cars the manufacturer has a sticker on the inside edge of the drivers door stating correct tyre pressure. If you have changed tyre size from original then whats on the door may not be correct

I run 40 in my 215 45 17s.

I would run approx 40-45psi.

40

Anything around 38-45 ish would be fine.

I'd be running 36-40psi. I wouldn't run anything higher then 40psi in a road car.

40psi in my 255/35/18's & 265/35/18's.

on a low profile tyre say a 245/35 R19 like the OP may have, 40psi would perhaps even be too low. The lower the profile the higher the pressure required to prevent outer shoulder wear.

Yep, its not going to do the ride quality any favours by going any higher.I'd aim for 36 unless you were loading the car up quite a lot.

I fit 19's and even 20's bigger at work, at same or lower sidewall size then that, and I've never seen outer shoulder wear due to running between 36-40psi. Of course thats just what I've found, but would like to be proven wrong

I'm running 38 on my 245/35/19s, nice even wear (except the rears wear fast!)
