Thin steel plate between engine and gear box!

hi people whats the steel plate between the engine and geabox called! i thaught it was called a sandwich plate or dust plate but doesn't show any when i surch for one on here. im needing one for a 350 chev- th350. cheers

we always called them sandwich plates too.probably got some weird tech name!

all they do is stop dust and stuff getting into where the fly wheel- flexplate is. thanks for replys

They don't adapt anything - the holes match without them.

yea my 350 in my racecar bolts up to a 3 speed chev box and there is no sarnie plate there,, just made a bolt on cover at the bottom to keep the dirt out of the clutch dept

So why are these spacer plates usually made with a cut-out for the flex plate or flywheel smaller diameter than the flex plate!
Serious question - as if there isn't a rational answer, then they obviously just did it this way to be an utter PITA.

Just a couple of bolts holding it on and it isnt such a PITA to remove and replace if you have to
