an old 20 cent piece got stuck in the slot by the gearstick causing it to stick!

thanks tried that but i think it may be a gear box fault

If you have worked on the radio of late and have had the centre console out. you have have not pluged back in the wire to shifter.
Have you tried pushing the release button then shifting it, like as you do if motor ant running!
