Brakes shuddering downhill (Subaru Lancaster)

Just got a WOF but during a trip over Arthur's Pass the brakes were shuddering when slowing down on the steep grades. Don't really notice it on the flat when braking hard.

Any ideas!

Warped rotors that were a little more out of shape as they got hotter going downhill

How do they fix this! Never really noticed it before and have had much heaver loads in the car before. Any recommendations of where I should have it looked at. My normal mechanic or a proper brake place!

Check the wheelnuts are evenly torqued.

Will do. Didn't think of this. Worth a shot for sure.

Was the shuddering different from what happens when the ABS comes on !

Having driven Subaru's for some time - I know that uneven torque on nuts causes shudder.
