josculpturer, Feb 24, 10:14am
An A4. You owned one before Andrew!

ginga4lyfe, Feb 24, 10:22am
little! an a4 is a common sedan sized car!, but non the less they are nice cars, dont see them in workshops too often

No, bosses daughter has an A3, and it quite often ends up in our workshop when things go wrong with it.

Admittedly, most of the faults it has had have just been general service items (coils, crank angle sensors etc.) but the headlight switches seem to be hugely over complicated and expensive.

good things are audi are galvanised . audi will handle on road 100 times better then any japanese vehicle. parts however used to be expensive more then for vwi dont know if that is still so was in early 90s

Not one to exaggerate, are you!

Exaggeration is 2 billion trillion squared to the power of 16.9 penta-billion times worse than understatement.

Best to post what your budget is and what age group you are looking at. Otherwise any advice you are getting is likely to be miles off for the car you are looking at.

In general though the Audi/VW's of the last 10 years are very good. The later ones with the DSG gearbox are FANTASTIC.

Parts are easily available and very inexpensive. The Audi badged cars are sometimes not as good a value as the VW equivalent with the same running gear. This can be especially true with the MK5 Golf which is not only amazingly undervalued in NZ but wipes the floor with anything else in its class.

In short, tell us more but Audi/VW can be a great option in the right price range.

Either way, what a tasty wee morsel they are!
