I've been told Auto Electrician better than Mechanic.
Car is a Daihatsu Mira LX 1988.
3 Cylinder 850cc 4 speed manual.
What kind of fuel consumption should I expect!
Seems to run OK at present but would like it tuned for best fuel consumption.
Any information appreciated.

I don't see how an auto electrician would help to be honest unless he was remapping the ECU.
Your average mechanic should be able to do plugs, leads air, oil and fuel filters and distributor cap and rotor etc etc.
That thing should run on the smell of an oily rag.

I thought as much. I get from Ashburton to Timaru and back on just OVER half a tank. Therefore I reckoned it needs attention.
Will check among friends for a good local mechanic to sort it.

The fuel tank is tiny. so that doesnt really say much.
Perhaps if you filled your tank, then drove to Timmers and back, then refilled your tank so you knew EXACTLY how many litres it used, yuo would have a better idea of wether it need attention or not.
I'm guessing not.
