Stopping rubber on metal squeaking?

Hi,
My wagon's tailgate rubbers are squeaking annoyingly, seems to be rubbing on the body. What's best to put on the rubber! Would silicone spray help! Cheers.

It will do no harm. Its a quick and simple to try. Would be 1st thing i would do.

Yep, silicone spray. But a decent one like CRC - some of the others are pretty hopeless.

look NOTHING is going to be a spray on FIX. ITs squeaking because it needs to be adjusted correctly. Do that and no more squeak

Get a dry lube stick from Repco or whatever - best poison for rubber meets metal

Adjust the brackets on the latch.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I didn't want to put something on there that made it worse.I've got some dry lube so I'll start with that.
