Meh, someone probably has a mint condition Austin Maxi in their garage too. Interesting to look at sure, but not particularly worthy of entry into a show predominately about hot rod culture.

I couldn't care less to be honest. I would walk right passed it and look at the other cars. To me (and many many other people), your car is just not what beach hop is all about.

Don't be a Pratt Bellky, Fly in the Ointment is not called for, I was genuinely asking and although they are permitting it entry to the Classic Car show it has still been refused entry to the Main Parade which is where i really wanted to go. I went there before in a run of the mill puss bucket common as Mustang before and this time I had a truly rare car that I wanted to show even if it was japanese.

If I BUTCHERED a Classic car and Dropped a 350 in it and removed the bonnet to show the butchery it would get in for sure. But I am not a nutter and feel a classic car is a classic car, a Butchered Car is a Butchered Car.

but rare does not always = good, or even interesting.

Clearly you want nothing to do with hot rods, go find a 70's jappa fan club.

It is Interesting, It has a Unique Look all of it's own and a sporty Coupe of the early sprinters in Rear Wheel Drive before they went Plastic Bumpers and all that crap.

Been there Done that, Had a 78 Camaro, 81 Corvette, 97 Mustang V8 Convertible, 79 Ford Mercury, 89 Camaro, 95 Corvette 350 V8 Convertible 6-Speed manual. The List Goes On.But out of all the hundreds of cars I have owned, This Car has stolen my heart and I have a soft spot for it being so mint, original, rare and unique to look at. I value this more than any other Car I have ever owned for TRUE Classic Original Condition

Should of let it in imo. Make a project thread on oldschool.co.nz I'm sure some others on there will appreciate a car like that.

theses kind of groups are just tossers anyhow i like any old orginal cars no matter were they were built ** ONLY RELEASED IN JAPAN AS A JDM MODEL ** i sure i remember these in the early 80s so those 2 must be importedrather than released in NZ it should be in a museum

japiwi.boys take a pill man. I think your car looks absolutely awesome. I love seeing unmolested examples of that sort of thing. At the same time, I don't think it fits at the hop. It's not a judgment on the car, or you (which seems to be how you're taking it), it's simply a reality of what the hop is, who their attendees are, and the image they want to promote. Move on.Plenty more shows on over the summer that would love to have you there. Would you rather be at as show where you're welcomed, or one where every second person turns to you and says "what the ^%&$ you doing here!"

I can't help but feel this is just a 'look at me and my car' thread.

One day they will have to change the cut off year,as there wont be so many people with the current cut off years that want to run them up and down the road. This has happened with the vintage car club. I can go on a vcc run in my 83 Jap car if i want and still compete for votes and points.

Imagine if they opened it up to jappas there would be heaps of the things applying . Leave it as it is. Dont they have shows for"classicjappas "wonder why !

If it bugs ya so much start up an event showcasing jap econo shit boxes instead. I'll have a bet that 99.9% of people who partake in beachhop don;t want to see jap shit that was designed for their grandmothers no matter how much of a classic they are. Not to mention the pimple faced, jeans halfway down the arse flat brimmed cap dropkick sheep that are into these jappas.
