Worn 88 XF 4.1 Falcon transmission, what options ?

3 speed auto
will later model auto trans fit onto the 4.1 ! as in from the 3.9 of the EA !

A BW51 3 speed auto ex a 1988/89 EA will fit if you change the bellhousings over, the 3.9/4.0 bolt pattern is completely different and mounts the starter on the opposite side of the car and doesn't directly fit in, the later BTR 4 speed can't be fitted at all.Remember that XF utes and vans were made until 1993 and still retained the old BW51 3 speed auto.What is your trans doing/not doing!

double check the speedo gears and what car it came from.we swapped a gearbox and could not get the speedo correct after it despite 3 different speedo drive units fitted.
