Got do an oil change on the missus' new car, had a quick look to see how awkard it was gonna be to get at, but I couldn't find it.Is it in a weird place or am I just going blind!
Here they are showing the 2.3 is a cartriidge in the 3

That's odd, my 07 NZ new has a cartridge, as do all of the 2.3's that I service !

The 2.3 has a cartridge but I think the 2.0L has the spin on filter. I do remember reading up about people putting in the Mazda 3 oil filter system into the Mazda 6 so they could put in the spin on filter because the cartridge housing can get damaged easily if people don't use the correct filter wrench.

The 2lt are spin on and the 2.3lt are cartridge as above. I find its heaps quicker to remove the plastic pan from underneath first. Cheers Stevo
