is there anything that I should look out for if I was to go down this track and purchase one of these ! probably a mid to late 90's model. I'm not an off roader just need a wee bit power to tow a trailer etc.

What exactly are you going to tow! But if you are buying a MU, go for a manual one with a 2.8 turbo diesel. And if you have a bit more $$$ and time, you can improve the power and torque by bolting on a turbo and intercooler from a 3.1 motor (4JG2) and fit a 3 inch free flow exhaust system from the turbo back.and a snorkel.for looks.
