Pointless realy, cars so easy for them to get into have little regard for saftey plus lack of training . On apprentice wages I couldnt afford a car until I was 20then on tick , cared for it like a baby .

Have any of you saying I acted poorly been on this road or been rear ended hard! After I stopped I was well within "my rights" to be sitting behind the hyundai but I sure as shit know there are tankers and stock transport trucks about on the road. It's why I got on the horn and got this retard to move his ass. I mean avoiding a dog/kid or whatever is one thing cause you can dive to the side, half the things you encounter suddenly will not be able to be stopped for, say someone coming over the centreline in a bad pass move. You HAVE to take the exit plan, I've been down shoulders and skidded along trees many a time thanks to bad overtakers or things falling off trailers/people throwing large objects out of their car.

The thing there was all these morons gathered around the dog so it is no longer just a dog to avoid it's several people. Now normally there is my lane, the flush median and the oncoming traffic lane along with the shoulder + side road to duck into to avoid and come to a stop, they take up the WHOLE road with this circus and I'm left shitting my pants with nowhere to go. Where if there is a single hazard there is a safety margin of actions that can be taken. It's totally their fault for not thinking it through and putting everyone's lives at risk.

Not sure how long ago that was but i can assure you tankers are governed to 90 k,sometimes they can get to a 100 k down hill BUT a warning gets sent to Hamilton and the driver gets a warning via radio ,3 of those and you are off for a bloody big grilling and retraining.no ifs or buts, also in this day and age they can prove every hour of the day how fast they drive, how many times you braked, how hard you braked.etc etc, also if you want just contact them they will show you the read out of what ever tanker that you THINK has been speeding . technology is that good these days.we get a print out every day of our performance .this is every tanker. This has been done because of the public such as yourself making these actuations.this is very easy for you to do,then you will have the proof and not just a actuation

Moving to 16 just shifts the problem.
Stats say that most accidents are caused from poor back-end control. (and afterwards as well:)
I watched in horror that TV doco where the young Waikato girl was crucified over taking out the cyclists. The fact was that she came across a situation that scared the crap out of her - she lost control by doing things all wrong, and unfortunate people lost their lives. This simply occurred because she didn't have the experience to deal with it. Hence I reflect towards some senior people that I know, and they could easily finish up with the same result - shifting the goalpost won't fix the problem.
We should learn by our mistakes, and that first tail-happy situation is a learning curve, but the first time result often doesn't have a happy ending.

Skid pads, slippery paddocks! - I found a Jet Boat with Colorado steering was good practice for my daughter. But they need to learn.

fantastic suggestion

that would be great for the initial hand-eye coordination lessons

when the law was made , teens were leaving school regularly at 15 years old & going straight out to work

when the law was made there was far Far FAR less traffic, cars & people

when the law was made, 15 year olds were actually like 15 year olds

now with the conditions of our modern age, with modern kids, i dont think 16 is a bad idea

I have quite a bit to do with Fonterra drivers and trainers for that matter and well awhere of how the trucks opperate and how it all works. This was late last year and i did wonder if they had an allownce for the trucks on plains as they like to travel in convoy it seems and hold up lines of traffic, which wasnt the case. Unless the ute I was driving had a dodgy speedo they wernt doin 90 accorrding to it. I dont have any issue with most of them because they are some of the best and alert out there.

If we had 2 equal boys looking for an apprenticeship and one was just 15 while the other was 16 - we would have to look more seriously at the oldest as we need someone who can drive.

Prob make them stay at school longer now which cant be a bad thing.

yeah, but how many 15 y/o's are actually out there, part of NZ's workforce

i dont know, but i bet its a tiny percentage of all our 15 y/o's

Since we have 27% youth unemployment, bugger all.

Would still hurt the rural areas, personally age has nothing to do with it. Every person is different just like some adults get drunk every weekend and lock them selves in public toilet like on police ten 7 last night. So to punish everyone is a bit harsh in my opinion.
