i have a 2005 ford falcon futura which we just bought last week On the way home from work today the engine light came on and i could only go about 30kms p/h i pulled over turned the car off and then on again and it worked fine i rung ford and they said the car went into limp mode they werent really much help as to why that could of happened other than to tell me to take it to them and spend heaps of money trying to figure out what the problem is, has anyone had this happen to them before and what was the outcome!

well since you just brought it it will be under a warranty take it back and tell them to fix it under that warranty. Thats if you brought it from a dealer

oh well in that case really needs the codes read from the ECU and then go from there.

my one did that too. ended up the battery was knacked. new battery and its still sweet as 3 yrs later

I know someone who had exactly the same thing with a 2005 XR6 and it was a loose battery terminal. It was the only problem they had with that car in almost 200,000 kms of ownership.
