HELP- Now my Audi A4 gear knob's broke

toshibanz, Apr 15, 5:59am
The plastic part that comes up out of the stick seems to have broken off, so I have had to take the know off so I can pull the plastic thing up to get it into gears.

Any advise on how I go about replacing this part

Cheers guys :)

What on earth have you been doing to that poor car!
I can't believe how many hassles you are having with it.

With regard to the shifter, if you don't have any luck here that's probably a great one to post on an international Audi forum as I don't think its a very common problem. btw you have officially run out of common problems and are now moving on to obscure ones.

Tell me about it.Its only done like a hundred k's since doing the expansion tank and water pump etc. It cant be a lemon, and I'm a middle age male, so its not driven hard at all :(

You must be making this up. Audi's don't break.

I actually suspect its a complete lack of proper maintenance by the previous owners given it still had the original water pump etc, that and a bit of bad luck. The waterpump wasn't unexpected at all given it hadn't been changed, the ignition pack is just one of those things.

Anyhow, have a surf of the forums and google, there are not many problems that those VW/Audi forums haven't discussed.
