Top quality cheap job yeah!

franc123, Apr 12, 7:36am
best and cheap don't go in the same sentence, the job is either done properly or it isn't!

caramellover, Apr 12, 7:44am
Lets rephrase.
I need the job done, at a reasonable price.

Well I went to the AA and they did my car's cam belt for $950. So lets hope you get it 'cheaper' than me. coz I feel ripped off!

215,000kms.
Unsure of when it was last changed, so just wanting to be careful & it would be a good selling point.

Cheers ;)

Timing belt $105
Tensioner bearing $62
Idler bearing $67
Hydraulic tensioner $161
Seal kit $65
Parts are plus gst, total for parts $517.50 inc gst
Freight $15
Labour $200
Total = $ 732.50

2nd option is to just change timing belt and hydraulic tensioner,
providing idler, tensioner bearing and seals are fine, parts $299 inc
gst, plus $200 Labour and freight,Total $499

shit where do you get those parts from! some of those prices are more expensive than repco's retail price! you didn't include the water pump either. What's in the $65 seal kit - the one crank seal and the two cam seals!

Mitsubishi new market

phillip.weston, Apr 12, 11:34am
have you considered buying aftermarket parts and half the cost and charge the customer 3/4 as much! you would be making money out of the parts that way.

phillip.weston, Apr 12, 11:37am
for instance, the "seal kit" - you can use ACL (which is a reputable brand) NJ242P cam seals at $5+gst each and NJ874P crank seal at $6+gst. Also, the 4G15 GDI doesn't use a auto tensioner unit, instead it's just a spring.
