caught a little bit of the jetsprints on telly today, could have sworn that one of them was running multi rotary engines, a comment made me sit up re the tuning and the sound

You heard right Skin. That JetPro rotor jetsprint boat engine was built in Wanganui. It won the Gisborne round of the championship.
