Will 205/65 R16 tires fit on my Golf GTI! standard size is 205/55 R16, what is the difference!

A big enough difference with a change in rolling diameter of 4cm. The 65/55 is a % of the 205mm (tread width) which is the sidewall height - it will change the way your car accelerates, handles, brakes and put the speedo out + potentially rub the guards or worse.
