Is it roads legal ?

thegravelracer, Feb 9, 9:35pm
hi ,is it warrantable to have 195 65 14 tires on the front and 195 60 14 on the rear!

cuda.340, Feb 9, 9:56pm
as long as the tyre on the oposite side is a matching tyre with the same construction number.

jezz43, Feb 9, 9:57pm
i thought tyres on the rear couldnt be smaller than the fronts! ive failed a wof on this in the past

usdefault, Feb 9, 10:00pm
How did penny farthings ever get WOF's then!

purple666, Feb 9, 10:06pm
Granddad says they used to ride them in backwards
Problem solved

As long as the trye size is within 2% of each other can have different size on the same axle.

tonyrockyhorror, Feb 10, 4:00am
The legislation only applies to tyres on the same axle.

hondalova, Feb 10, 8:21am
think about ABS before putting different size tyres on car.

beblowin, Feb 10, 9:10am
I think a 911 andx5 have ABS no issues there

Bugger.Just got new tyres.Had one directional, and three straight running. One of them (not the directional) was also a 65 while others were 70.

Explain.

mrfxit, Feb 10, 10:50pm
I suspect it might be a possibility that some abs systems don't cope well with 2 different wheel heights which effects rotational speeds hence sensors

mrfxit, Feb 10, 10:55pm
For simplicity's sake.
Same per axle .

load rating (within 1 ratings) (legal for 2!)
Ratio sizing
Very similar or same tread design
Type (directional/ asymmetrical/ conventional /commercial) (Snow must be all 4 )

Anything out of that & you may have to come up with some spec's for the wof to prove it's ok
