I have rust on the bit between glass & rubber, & they might need to be replaced for the next warrant! he wasn't sure as technically they aren't a structural body part [he searched in the 2vol book of WOF definitions for 20mins]. I've heard it costs an arm & a leg for replacement rubbers with the metal strengthener - the other option is to put solid glass windows in! only do it if I have to. are there after market options!

They are not a WOF requirement, mine are as rusty as and it is never a problem, like you said they aren't structural at all, if they get really bad your only real option is to get a solid one piece window fitted and a new rubber to suit.

good - then they can stay as they are. will however have to get someplace in Hornby area to redo the front windscreen rubber before winter - it's got a split & leaks & yes have used the gloop & it only lasts a couple of months, don't want interior damage [wet seat, carpets floor rust etc] to happen.
