Seem to remember a similar one on my old Toyota always came on when a bulb (normally brake light) had blown.

I haven't found a way for it to be turned off yet, mine is always on. Cannot remember if it was there when I bought the car, but it's there now. At first I thought it was to indicate that a bulb was out, but all bulbs are working. Has the light always been on since you got the car, or has it recently appeared!
