A solvent like lacquer thinner might do it, if the surface is porous you might not have much luck though. Black shoe polish may do the trick in that case. And we're not deaf.

This may sound really stupid but trust me, it works. Smooth peanut butter. Just get it on a cloth, rub it in gently and it lifts dried polish out of black trim and rubbers.
